Andreas von Möller, managing partner of Jacob Jürgensen GmbH & Co. KG, is celebrating his 70th birthday on September 18th.
Von Möller was born as a son of a timber merchant in Hamburg. After graduating from high school and university, he started his career at Continental Grain, an international grain trader, followed by wood marketing activities at Müller & Sohn AG. Since 1984, he has been part of the management at JJ-Group.
During his active period as CEO and partner von Möller merged the two timber companies to today´s Jacob Jürgensen Wood GmbH. As part of the JJ-Group, he took care of overlapping tasks such as a key role in the development of the current shareholder structure. In this time internationalization of the company was strengthened, gaining an outstanding position particularly in recent years. Furthermore, the product line was extended and the JJ-Group changed from pure agency to a service and sales company.
One of his achievements was to merge the associations Verein Deutscher Holzeinfuhrhäuser (VDH) and Bundesverband Deutscher Holzhandel (BD Holz) into present Gesamtverband Deutscher Holzhandel (GD Holz / German Timber Trade Federation). He also was the chairman of the GD Holz department for foreign trade for eleven years.
Early 2008 von Möller was voted for president of the European association of softwood importers (UCBR). In this role he initialized the merge of his association with two other European timber importers associations (UCBD and UCIP). As a result, the European Timber Trade Federation (ETTF) was founded in 2009. The same year he was voted for president of the ETTF. Besides his work, von Möller is an active member of Rotary Club and is currently planning the Rotary world congress 2019 in Hamburg. In his free time, he likes playing golf and enjoys classical music.
The management board of the company and all employees congratulate Andreas von Möller to his 70th birthday and wish him all the best.
