Our relationships with Scandinavian producers go all the way back to 1882, the year when Jacob Jürgensen was founded. We want to maintain and extend this long tradition and promote its continued development with a constant stream of product innovations and services.

The story of the wood we deliver has a very natural beginning in the forest. First-class round logs guarantee a high-class end product that is suited to its intended purpose. Logs are sorted according to grade and dimensions for the final use intended by our customers at the moment the wood is harvested in the forest.

Because of the cool climatic conditions in Scandinavia, the trees from the high northern latitudes grow slowly and are tightly grown; they have an even, regular structure characterised by tight and small knots. Low-resin Nordic wood has an even structure, making it a first-class primary material for many types of use, especially in visible applications.

Our supplies come from sawmills in Sweden, Finland and Norway. Our cooperation with partners of many years’ standing enables us to offer to our customers a highly varied as well as attractive line of products.

We guarantee stable supplies and professional processing to planing mills as well as to our industrial and retail customers for their timber purchases.

The trunks of the Nordic spruce have long, sound sections, and the dried knots are small. The bright white wood features a decorative appearance, and there is no difference in colour between heartwood and sapwood.

Processing Nordic spruce with saws, planes, milling machines and other technologies is possible without any difficulty, and connecting pieces with screws, nails and lime is equally simple. Paints, varnishes and stains can be applied easily. Thanks to its high durability in combination with low weight, whitewood is also an excellent choice for construction work.

Thanks to the cool climate in Scandinavia, Nordic pine also grows with a very regular, even structure and is relatively sound and tight-knotted. The logs are straight.

Processing the wood with saws, planes, milling machines and blades for the manufacture of veneers and using other techniques is possible without any difficulty. Straight, even and tight-knotted wood is easy to work with and ensures consistent and regular results.

Nordic pine is used especially frequently as a decorative wood for interior decorating and construction. When impregnated, Nordic pine is also an outstanding choice for exterior areas.
