LION BOARDS HARDBOARDS

LION Boards^TM are high-quality hardboards from Finland. They are manufactured almost entirely from natural wood and take advantage of by-products from the wood processing industry in nearby areas. LION Boards^TM are safe for both human health and the environment, are very strong and have excellent processing properties.

All our hardboards are PEFC-certified.

We can also offer cut-to-size panels. On top, it is possible to receive labeled panels; if requested please let us know in advance.

LION General^TM – Standard Hardboard

LION General^TM is an excellent board for all types of temporary structures and packaging. General boards are also very suited for protection during construction, because they are durable, impact resistant and stay in place well, thanks to their mesh pattern.

General boards are strong and are often painted and machined for general use by many trades. The sheets do not contain substances that are harmful for people’s health or for the environment, so using and handling them is safe. The amount of formaldehyde measured in our products is the same level as in the pure wood used to make them. Thickness calibration or smoothing can be done on either the surface or the mesh side.

LION Protect^TM

LION Protect^TM is a slightly thinner hardboard that is well suited to protection applications. LION Protect^TM can be used for the protection of floors and walls on construction sites and during renovations.

LION Protect^TM is also available to order in thickness of 4.8mm and 6mm for those heavy duty projects.

LION Protect^TM offers superior impact resistance to most polypropylene and plastic protection systems.

Unlike the majority of plastic based temporary protection, LION Protect^TM offers vastly superior anti-slip properties, especially when walked on with wet work boots, whilst having the additional benefit of helping to remove grit and dirt from workman’s boots.

LION Oil Tempered^TM

Lion Oil Tempered^TM has been tempered with environmentally friendly bio-oil. The boards are moisture-resistant and suited to service class 2 applications, with an extremely strong structure and excellent racking strength. They are suitable for both permanent structures and for temporary use.

Finnish Fibreboard Ltd. hardboard products carry the CE marking.

As a result of their natural composition, LION Boards^TM are safe and high-quality, even in interior decoration. They easily meet the most demanding emissions classification standard for building materials, M1.

LION HD Panel^TM

LION HD Panel^TM has a white painted surface, which gives the spaces a clean, bright, and roomy look. LION HD Panel^TM is highly suitable for the internal lining of agricultural buildings, hoardings, shopfitting, site protection and general building work.

The boards are moisture-resistant and suited to service class 2 applications, with an extremely strong structure and excellent racking strength. They are suitable for both permanent structures and for temporary use and all boards are edged sealed on all 4 sides. LION HD Panel^TM is available in an unlimited selection of plain colours, subject to quantity.

LION Perforated^TM

LION Perforated^TM is standardly available in both unpainted and white painted – LION Perforated^TM is available to special order in ANY colour, subject to quantity, and is also available in oil tempered quality if required.

The following perforation diameters and intervals are available:

• 4.8 mm, perforation interval cc. 12.5 mm / 19 mm / 25.4 mm
• 7.1 mm, perforation interval cc. 25.4 mm

On 3mm boards, we would recommend only using 4.8mm diameter holes, but 7.1mm are available if requested. Similarly, for 6mm boards, we would recommend centres of 25.4mm or 19mm can be used if required.

LION Furniture Painted^TM

LION Furniture Painted^TM comes with paint applied to the smooth side. The standard colour is white, but other colours can be provided. Finished with water-based paint, our boards are not harmful to health or to the environment. LION Furniture Painted^TM is available in an unlimited selection of plain colours subject to quantity.

We are able to paint oil tempered as well as standard paint grades of boards. Finnish Fibreboard Ltd. hardboard products carry the CE marking.

LION FLOOR^TM

LION Floor^TM has been specifically designed to take into consideration the exacting requirements of the flooring industry, and is fully compliant with CFA Guidance and BS8203:2017 code of practice for use as a fabricated underlay prior to the installation of resilient floor coverings.

LION Floor^TM is a viable alternative to plywood – with many advantages over some plywood’s.  It is available in a range of different size options – not just 8×4 and 4×2 like most plywood’s. LION Floor^TM offers a cost effective alternative to a flooring grade plywood meeting the requirements of BS8203; very important in times when budgets are being squeezed.

Due to its higher density than plywood, LION Floor^TM is able to withstand higher point loads than many plywood’s

LION Floor^TM is supplied as a pre-conditioned board, saving time when on site. BS8203:2017 and the CFA guide to contract flooring both give details on how fabricated underlays should be installed, but using a pre-conditioned product reduces installation time and helps to ensure that you are using a stable product.

LION Floor^TM is a fully engineered board, and unlike the majority of plywood’s available on the market, we can guarantee that our product will not have any core gaps or veneer overlaps.
