We are pleased to announce that Paul Dmitrow has been part of our accounting team since last fall. The trained banker has already gained a lot of experience in financial accounting in a foreign trade company. The Berliner moved to northern Germany because of love. Besides reading and sports, quizzing is one of his passions. He not only enriches our team but also our language diversity through his basic knowledge of Chinese.

We started the new year with Boris Girard. Originally from North Rhine-Westphalia, the trained wholesale and export merchant has spent most of his professional career in New Zealand (16 years). There he was initially responsible for the export of construction timber and ultimately for the import and distribution of wood flooring. Almost two years ago, he and his family moved back to Germany, and we are very happy to know that a “kiwi” isnow part of Team Nordic at JJ.

Total makeover – a new look for our office

Finally, we can happily say: rebuilding the office while remaining at service demanded a lot from everyone, but the result was worth the effort.

After a planning period of two years and a rebuilding period of 12 months, divided into three phases, we were finally able to move into the last offices.  The complete redesign was a result of the previous total office gutting.

Extreme Makeover

We did not only increase our office area enormously. Modern interiors such as partitions, which offer opportunities for retreat and concentrated work, as well as glass elements, which provide light and transparency, are a significant component of the optical change. The offices are now equipped with new lighting technology and elements for optimized room acoustics. Height-adjustable desks also offer perfect comfort for individual working. All this enables our employees to achieve nearly ideal and modern working conditions.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a big impact on the world. Our work is also influenced in different ways. For the safety of all colleagues, business partners and customers, we of course adhere to the regulations of the government and the guidelines of the authorities.

The biggest challenge was the technical implementation so that employees can work from home. Luckily, our IT structure is technologically advanced enough to meet the requirements and additional notebooks were purchased in due time. Meanwhile, working from home has become an important part of our working environment. Calls are automatically forwarded to the colleagues at home. Since some work processes and tasks can be managed only from the office and not all employees work from home, we are on site, even if only in a small number.
